Over the years we change, with fast turns or slow path, but we change. ORSO is 20 years old and finds itself grown, changed except for the willingness to put every individual at the heart of our work. Meetings changes: ORSO is grew up by meeting the young, his first commitment and heart of its action today, by meeting people in employment offices looking for answers and new opportunities, by facing businesses companies in the new labor market, by listening to partners and customers to design effective services. The Story of Cooperative ORSO
The cooperative was born in 1987 by the sensitivity of GiOC (Young Christian Workers association) . Operates mainly in the areas of active labour market policies and even in the area of the policies for the youth. It is present in three provinces of Piedmont: Turin, Asti and Cuneo; realizes projects even in other regions of Italy.
Designs and manages services with the aime of promoting equal access of disadvantaged groups in the labor market and full citizenship of people in society: young, unemployed adults or expelled from companies, disabled persons, foreign citizens.
By putting the focus of his organization the person and his times, ORSO interprets the work as a dimension that allows for a dignified life, personal development and participation in social life, by adopting different means to promote reconciliation between work time and time life.
The exchange with the land goes beyond the purely commercial, for the integration of the public welfare system. The 381/91 Law provides that: "social cooperatives are intended to pursue the general interest of the community to promote human and social integration of citizens through (...) managing social and health services and education. "

The actual cooperative
The organizational structure of ORSO has evolved over time, following the evolution and diversification of the target market and the accompanying expansion of the organization.
The cooperative have organizational structure and rules that allow it to design and deliver products and services as part of its mission, manage projects , produce innovation, for compete in the market.
Our operational structure is formed by specific product areas or divisions: the division "active labour policies" , the division "Ouplacement" , and the division "Information and youth policies" Each division designs and manages his products and services, the Cuneo division is territorial and includes both types of macro service .
The divisions are largely autonomous, integration and coordination are guaranteed by the Directorate General, by the Research and Development function, by the function of human resources and quality system.
Members and employees
Currently 163 people working at ORSO, 52% of whom are shareholders/members and 48% are employees.
Women are 77% of the total.
70% of those who work in ORSO possess a university degree.
The age of the workforce is distributed among the groups 26-30, 31-35 (40%), 36/40.
44% is with us for over 5 years.
85% have a contracts of indefinite duration, 12% have a fixed-term contract, 3% have a project contract.
41% is a full time, 59% a part time

Labor policies
The task of ORSO is to make work an achievable goal, even for those with fewer tools.
We have developed the knowledge and skills necessary to support and advise those seeking work, becoming competent in the enhancement of skills.
To support local authority who wish to make a quality service in the field of labor policies, provide advice to plan and manage individual services or projects for different types of people: from young people in the terms of their future school or work , to adults who are about to enter the labor market, from those who were expelled, to the differently abled.
ORSO offers his support to the search for a new job, to meet the needs of people who are about to lose their jobs and to the companies that are struggling with organizational restructuring.
Active labor market
policies and employment services:
Active labor market policies: sum of coherent actions to train people and support for their job placement in order to increase their chances of finding a new job in case of need.
By working closely with local authorities, designers ORSO analyze the needs of the citizens of the territory, in order to propose projects and employment services, partly in response to calls for public financing identified as appropriate. Design and management of initiatives in support of long-term unemployment, aimed at enhancing the employability of women or to promote equal opportunities in the labor market and in government.
ORSO is involved in the planning of labor policies and advising local authorities on the possible channels of funding: local networks to promote employment services, the educational and vocational guidance and outplacement, designing and managing complex services for active labor market policies, in addition to individual initiatives aimed at providing employment to support the weaker.
